Nancy began her professional career as a public relations (PR) practitioner with East African Industries (now Unilever) and is well recognized as one of Kenya’s pioneers in the sector. She has worked for various multinational corporations both in Kenya and the US. As a consulting editor for one of Kenya’s largest newspapers—The Standard—Nancy led a twelve month anti-rape campaign that caught the attention of the then Attorney General of Kenya, UNHCR and FIDA. Nancy’s work highlighted the plight of thousands of rape victims and led to her collaborating with various organizations to draft language for policy papers on Kenya’s Children’s Bill, Affirmative Action Bill and the Equality Bill.
For over six years, Nancy has focused her energies on building sustainable economic development programs with various international NGOs. Prior to joining AVPA Nancy worked for World Vision US where she managed over 15 projects with a combined budget of $45 million spread over three global regions. She has also consulted for
