12. Climate Finance 101: Defininitions, Trends, Case Studies
Climate change is a threat multiplier positioned to derail hard-earned development gains around the world. Whether through mitigation or adaptation, financing, political will and civil action are essential to addressing it. This session will unpack what climate finance is and help you become an expert on the nascent but needed nexus of climate change and finance. It will also discuss some trailblazing case studies of intiatives currently underway around the world.
I work at the intersection of climate change and finance. Climate change is the most pressing concern of our generation, which makes the global transition towards a low-carbon economy a critically important mission along with addressing resource gaps for adaptation and mitigation more broadly.
From establishing and running the Africa regional office of a water and sanitation NGO to founding a social impact startup, my career illustrates and embodies my relentless passion for positively challenging the status quo.
