A beach cleaning robot to stimulate awareness around littering and the pollution caused by beach go’ers. Or a ‘Weed Whacker’-robot which farmers can use to mechanically weed a crop field instead of using potentially harmful chemical weed killers, are examples of robotics for a sustainable future.
Statistics show that the environment is suffering from human actions and the need to mitigate the issues is growing exponentially every day. It is an understatement that society needs an extra pair of hand, where humans are most likely not the answer to get the job done in an effective and efficient way.
During this roundabout, we will name the sectors and activities that have the most urgent needs to come up with an alternative solution for human or manual labour. We will discuss if it is favourable that a robot would take over the job to be done. And what could A.I. bring to the table for that specific activity?
